My Current Projects

My Gedling campaign poster stuck on a window under a vote Labour poster

Here is a list of the current projects that I am currently leading.

National

1. Campaign guidance and training for LWN members seeking to stand as a candidate, to help bridge the gender balance gap in the House of Commons.

REC level

2. South East mentoring scheme to help undiscovered talent in Tory safe-seats to get the guidance and support to develop their own Labour careers. We are not maximizing all of the potential we have in seats that lack the political and campaign experience, as well as the networks to help guide future candidates and campaigners to deliver their best. If we want to deliver innovative and dramatic projects, we need to upskill pioneering new activists.

3. REC approval to be passed on to the NEC – for individuals living in poverty to be given free Labour Party membership (or similar). We have a cost-of-living crisis which makes supporting a political party impossible for so many people. If we claim to represent real people, we need to reflect that real people often do not have the disposable income but are Labour nonetheless. This cost-of-living-crisis is hitting women, those with disabilities, and ethnic minorities the hardest. Our membership needs to be inclusive of these underrepresented groups.

4. Establish a sub-campaign/ membership value team – to meet more frequently than REC. To deliver the tailored campaigns reflecting key SE issues that smaller CLPs need to make more noise in their local communities. By working together, we can also pull in big name speakers for talks to keep members engaged when CLPs in my own county can fall dormant.

County level

5. Pioneer the Living Wage campaign across all of Surrey with the Cooperative Party.

Borough level

6. To create a non-referral foodbank to provide emergency provisions for people outside of the limited window that other foodbanks operate in.

7. Establish a local children’s charity which helps children to have the key childhood experiences that all kids deserve.

8. Getting Spelthorne CLP election ready.
